Lily House is one of Safe Horizon’s eight domestic violence shelters helping victims of abuse who need long-term help to stay safe and provide a stable home for their children. The critical work of our shelters is often supported by dedicated corporate and organizational partners, who proudly show their support through volunteer efforts. This past Tuesday, the NFL organized a celebration at Lily House to “kickoff” the end of summer and the beginning of football season.

The NFL offered many engaging activities for the kids including decorating pencil cases, coloring NFL logos, a football toss, and even an impromptu dance lesson. They brought pizza donated by Papa John’s as well as footballs and water bottles for the children.

“The event with Safe Horizon was a great and unique opportunity for NFL employees, ” said Melissa Schiller, Manager of Community Relations. “Our Community Teammates were able to not only provide donations, but also engage with the community we served, something we don’t often have the chance to do. Watching the children and their families walk away from the event with a backpack in hand and smiles on their faces was the highlight of the night.”
We are so grateful to the NFL for making a difference in our clients’ lives and sending the children of Lily House back to school with confidence.
