As of June 30, 2023, Safe Horizon staff will no longer be present at the FJCs in the Bronx, Brooklyn, Queens, and Staten Island as we have been.
We thank the dedicated, caring, and compassionate Safe Horizon staff and leadership who helped to build strong partnerships with our colleagues.
NOTE: Please be advised that all Family Justice Centers openings/availabilities vary due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Please visit the “Courts” section on our emergency services page for more details.
Family Justice Centers (FJCs) are multicultural, walk-in facilities that bring together professionals from multiple social and legal service agencies to help survivors of domestic violence, elder abuse and sex trafficking. This collaborative environment helps survivors to quickly and easily locate desperately needed resources to recover and rebuild their lives.
Operated by the Mayor’s Office to Combat Domestic Violence, FJCs offer services in multiple languages and help survivors regardless of their immigration status. FJCs also provide a place for children ages three and up to go while their parents receive services, which include:
- Safety planning
- Case management
- Counseling
- Legal assistance
- Housing assistance
- Financial assistance
