At this year’s 23rd Annual Champion Awards, Safe Horizon will honor 40 years of helping New Yorkers in their times of greatest need.
In 1978, Safe Horizon began as a pilot program in New York City’s court system to assist witnesses who had been intimidated, or who felt too threatened to testify. Since then, we expanded our services, providing advocacy and support to victims of domestic violence, child abuse, sexual assault, human trafficking, youth homelessness, and other crimes. Today, we are the nation’s largest victim services organization, each year touching the lives of more than 250,000 people.
The Champion Awards is an opportunity to highlight Safe Horizon’s achievements, raise critically needed funds, and honor individuals who are making a difference for so many of our most vulnerable neighbors.
