For many of the 250,000 survivors Safe Horizon partners with each year, a few minutes is all they have to decide what to take with them as they’re fleeing a violent situation.
“The Things We Carry,” a campaign that kicks off in Domestic Violence Awareness Month, visually explores what survivors are able to bring with them as they start their journey toward healing – a survivor who fled a trafficking situation with just $15 on them, or the toy cars a child was holding upon entering a Safe Horizon shelter.
The Things We Carry photography exhibition will feature the work of critically acclaimed photographer, Kelly Marshall and stylist, Philippa Brathwaite.
Original photographs and a small number of limited-edition sets are still for sale. For inquiries to purchase artwork from this collection, please contact us by email.
